SEATTLE, WA, July 13, 2021 – HONK, North America’s leading provider of contactless payments for parking, has partnered with International Parking Management Inc. to bring contactless parking to Woodland Park Zoo. The new touch-free payment solution ensures parking is safe, accessible and easy for all visitors. Drivers have two touch-free ways to pay with HONK: (1) scan their phone on a QR code located onsite for a quick guest checkout experience, or (2) download the free HonkAPP from the App Store or Google Play.
“Giving visitors a contactless way to pay that requires no app download or account sign up is a game changer for the zoo,” said Jessica Van Dyke, Director of Customer Experience, Woodland Park Zoo. “Not only is it the safest and fastest way for our customers to pay, but it also complements our mission of sustainability and reducing our carbon footprint. Less reliance on our pay stations will mean less communication, electricity and dispensing of paper receipts over time.”
Located onsite, the HonkTAP payment option allows drivers to safely pay for parking with a scan of their phone. With no app to download or pay station to touch, paying for parking is easier and safer than ever. After scanning the QR code, drivers tap on a pop-up notification to open up a payment screen that is pre-loaded with the rate options. Drivers simply type in their license plate and select for how long they want to park. The HONK payment system integrates directly with the zoo’s parking enforcement – passing paid parking sessions to enforcement officers in real-time.
For app lovers, the HonkAPP is another contactless payment option for drivers who wish to pay for parking and manage a session directly from their phone. As with the HonkTAP option, drivers can pay via Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal and all major credit cards. Drivers can also opt to receive text reminders when their parking is set to expire, and can add more time to their parking session directly from their phone – no need to rush back from the zoo!
“We’re thrilled to launch our contactless parking solution at Woodland Park Zoo,” said Michael Back, HONK Founder and CEO. “This new parking option is a win-win for the zoo and visitors – it’s easy to implement with absolutely no maintenance, and it’s quick and easy for visitors to the zoo.”
“We’re proud to partner with HONK so visitors to Woodland Park Zoo have access to the safest and easiest way to pay for parking,” said Scott Reisnouer CPP, Senior Operations Manager, International Parking Management. “We pride ourselves on delivering the utmost customer experience for every parker – and this payment solution goes above and beyond.”
