MANHATTAN, KS, August 6th, 2025 – Kansas State University (K-State) has awarded its campus event parking management contract to HONK, North America’s leading provider of contactless payments for parking and mobility. The decision reflects the university’s goal to streamline event parking and improve the experience for campus visitors. The partnership supports K-State’s broader goal of creating a more welcoming, accessible experience for visitors, alumni, and the community.
“This partnership lets us deliver a better experience for campus guests while also using university resources more efficiently,” said Adrienne Tucker, Director of Parking and Transportation, Kansas State University. “Our teams can now spend less time coordinating logistics and more time focused on supporting the events themselves.”
Kansas State University joins a growing list of colleges and universities turning to HONK to improve campus mobility. With HONK’s platform soon to be in place, K-State departments and event organizers will be able to manage their own parking — eliminating manual processes, reducing administrative workload, and giving visitors a more straightforward way to park.
Previously, managing event parking meant multiple steps, approvals, and back-and-forth between departments. Now, individual departments can create their own parking events in just a few clicks. No app downloads required for visitors — they simply tap, pay, and park.
“We’re honored to be working with K-State, an institution with such a rich legacy and a forward looking vision. Welcoming Kansas State University to HONK’s growing portfolio of higher education partners has been seamless and we are excited to continue to learn from one another,” said HONK Founder and CEO, Michael Back. “With over a decade of experience working with colleges and universities across North America, we know how important it is to reduce friction for students and visitors and give schools the tools they need to manage parking more effectively. K-State has embraced that fully.”
