Our Humble Beginnings
AKA “When our founder missed the first two innings of the Blue Jays game”
One day, in August 2013, Michael Back was taking his kids to a baseball game. The kids had their gloves and jerseys and were all ready to go – the kinds of kids that want to get to a 1:05pm game at noon to watch batting practice. But on this day, it wasn’t meant to be.
After searching for parking at a few downtown lots, Michael finally found the only one without a LOT FULL sign and pulled in. But that was only the beginning.
First the operator didn’t have change for cash, so Michael agreed to use credit. Then, the machine didn’t work. After spending the first inning of his Sunday with the boys standing in an underground lot, Michael had had enough. Time is too precious to spend it on things that don’t add value to your life. On that day, Honk was born.
