EDMONTON, AB, November 1, 2022 – HONK, North America’s leading provider of contactless payments for parking, and ProCura Real Estate Services Ltd (ProCura), have struck a partnership that removes physical terminals and replaces them with contactless payments at over 1,800 parking spots across Edmonton. The entire ProCura parking portfolio adopted HONK’s contactless payment solutions – making it easier, safer, and more convenient for drivers to pay for parking.

Utilizing this new payment system does not require drivers to download an app. Instead, they are prompted to scan a QR code located onsite and follow instructions in a pop-up notification that appears on their mobile device. A payment screen, pre-loaded with rate options specific to the parking location, asks drivers to type in their license plate and select how long they wish to park for.
Commuters or frequent drivers who park on a regular basis at any ProCura location can also opt to download the app (HonkAPP) and create an account to pay for parking. This option gives them access to more features – including a “favourite” that allows drivers to save their most frequented parking zones for a faster checkout. Another much-loved feature is the ability to download parking receipts into a CSV file – great for tracking expenses or for tax purposes.
As with the QR-based payment method, drivers can pay via Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, Interac Debit, and all major credit cards. Drivers can also choose to receive text reminders when their parking is set to expire, and can add more time to their parking session directly from their phone.
