TORONTO, ON, Oct. 12, 2023 – HONK, North America’s leading provider of contactless payments for parking and mobility, proudly announces its successful completion of the rigorous System and Organization Controls (SOC 1 and SOC 2) Type 2 audits. The attainment of these certifications illustrates the company’s dedication to maintaining world-class security and data protection standards as it relates to HONK’s financial and operational frameworks.

A trusted leader in the parking and mobility sector, HONK is steadfast in its commitment to ensure  data integrity and security. The SOC 1 and SOC 2 Type 2 attestations confirm that all of HONK’s protocols are followed in the risk management of financial reporting, and secure storage and processing of data belonging to all those  who use and rely on HONK’s suite of software solutions.

SOC 1, a component of the American Institute of CPAs’ Service Organization Control reporting platform, focuses on Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICFR). It includes elements that are relevant to a user entity’s financial reporting and statements. SOC 2 assesses and attests to an organization’s controls according to five trust service criteria: security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy. SOC 2 includes a technical audit and confirmation that comprehensive information security policies and procedures have been both documented and followed.

The audit validates that HONK’s security practices and operations align with AICPA’s stringent criteria.

“Earning the SOC 1 and SOC 2 certifications convey our commitment to prioritize and maintain the highest security standards,” said Michael Back, HONK Founder and CEO. “This recognition, backed by third-party validation, reinforces our pledge to protect our valued partners and customers.”
