Honk Brings Touch-Free Parking to Drivers in Metro Vancouver

Safely pay for off-street parking at EasyPark lots with Honk’s App or Tap-to-Pay Smart Stations


Vancouver, BC, July 14, 2020 – Honk, North America’s leading provider of safe, contactless payments for parking, and EasyPark team up to bring touch-free payments to off-street parking in the City of Vancouver. The province is in Phase 3 of the BC Restart Plan where much of the economy is opening up and with it, there’s an increase in driving activity. Motorists are encouraged to pay for parking via Honk’s touch-free payments to help curb the spread of COVID-19. Drivers have two ways to pay: 1) Download the free HonkMobile app from the AppStore or Google Play, or 2) Tap their phone on tap-to-pay smart stations for a quick guest checkout experience - no app download required.

Safe parking is top-of-mind for drivers everywhere. Many drivers no longer feel comfortable handling cash or touching pay stations because of concerns around COVID-19. As driving activity in Metro Vancouver continues to increase, motorists are strongly encouraged to pay for parking on their phone through the HonkAPP or HonkTAP tap-to-pay option.

The Honk app has been available to Vancouver residents and visitors since 2017. EasyPark recently rolled out Honk’s app-less payment option (HonkTAP) to give drivers a quick, guest checkout experience. With no pay station to touch, drivers simply - and safely - tap their smartphone on a Honk smart station to pay for their parking session. There’s an option to receive text reminders when parking is set to expire and the ability to add more time remotely. This much-loved feature is also available to users of the app.
